Gary Gleason meets reps.of USI_IDD Alliances
TheNetwork for Consumer Protection (TN) hosted an alliance meeting on promotion of Universal Salt Iodization (USI) for the control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD). IDD/USI Communication and advocacy strategy were also reviewed in the meeting. Representatives of Civil Society, Media, Health Care Workers and Large Consumers of Salt alliances on promotion of Universal Salt Iodization (USI) for Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) Control with Mr. Gary Gleason, leading expert on IDD communication participated in the meeting.
National Alliance Meets to Re-strategize Campaign
The National Alliance on Protection and Promotion of Breastfeeding and Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDDs) Control has urged the government to initiate the legislative process on passage of the Iodine Deficiency Control Bill in the Parliament and to institute necessary actions for enforcement of the Protection of Breastfeeding Law in its true spirit. In a recent meeting held at its secretariat TheNetwork office, the alliance strategised a campaign for enforcement of the Protection of Breastfeeding Law 2009 and urged the government to table the IDD Control Bill before the Parliament without further loss of time.
